Saturday 27th April - Charity Event
In memory of our beautiful and inspirational eldest son Corbyn, we will be having a night of music and dancing at The Bowdon Rooms, The Firs, Bowdon WA14 2TQ, on Saturday 27th April. Corbyn's passion in life was music, he loved every note he played and every note he heard and we miss him so so much. Corbyn's Fund is raising money for the development of the new Young Oncology and Haematology Transplant Unit at The Christie, Manchester. Every day in the UK, six teenagers are diagnosed with cancer, we have to give them and their families hope, we have to make a difference. The evening will start at 7.30, hot buffet at 9.00, fantastic Live Music and DJ until 1am.Tickets are only £20 each, however, you can donate as much as you like.

Herb & Spice‘s imaginative brand of contemporary catering is returning to Trafford Council's fifth ‘Taste Sensation’ event at Altrincham Market on Sunday 25th September 2011. As part of the Taste of Trafford festival this one-day food and drink celebration attracted around 3,000 people last year – not just for the food and drink but for music, dance, community information stalls and activities for youngsters such as face-painting and dancing. Herb & Spice have won a prestigious contract to cater for over 800 international guests at a glittering travel industry awards ceremony in London. The Business Travel Market Conference is being held over 2 days in June, with the highlight event being an amazing 1980's 'Smash Hits' party at 02 Arena.
New Romantic band ABC and other top-selling artists from the decade will be playing their hits live on stage, whilst Herb & Spice will be keeping the theme alive with creative food stations that include Billy Ocean Seafood, Meatloaf Carvery, Robert Palmer-Ham and Adam Anti-pasti!
Herb & Spice are delighted to have the privilege of catering for the Cheshire Life monthly private lunch on 30th April. The premier county magazine has a credited reputation for only hosting their luncheon events at venues that can deliver the highest standards of contemporary cuisine. Herb & Spice will be impressing the discerning guests with a 3-course menu of delectable dishes prepared from fresh local spring produce. The magazine's resident professional food critic will be attending, and coverage of the event will be published in the magazine later in the year.
Duncan is to run the Flora London Marathon on 26th April again this year, and hopes to achieve a faster time of 4hrs 30 minutes, beating his 2008 record by 22 minutes. Duncan is facing the 26-mile challenge to raise further funds for his nominated charity O.S.C.A.R. which aims to develop ways of using patients own stem cells to help nerves re-grow and reverse the disabilities that result from their injuries. Herb & Spice have been appointed to cater for the Altrincham Chamber of Commerce Members Luncheon on 16th April at The Cinnamon Club. An impressive 3-course menu will be served to over 50 professional corporate guests representing a wide network of industry sectors from across Cheshire and South Manchester.
Herb & Spice are hosting 'A Night for OSCAR' on 28th March - a themed 1980's Indie music night including a Clash tribute band, DJ and buffet at the Bowdon Rooms. The event is being held to raise funds fo Duncan's nominated charity O.S.C.A.R. which raises funds to promote laboratory-based research into new treatments for spinal cord injuries. The evening starts at 7.30pm and is expected to go on til late! Tickets are £15.00 and all monies raised with go to the charity. GLITZY START TO 2009
The New Year got off to a dazzling start with The Bowdon Church School Glitter Ball held at The Bowdon Rooms. The black-tie event attracted over 230 guests, who enjoyed a champagne reception and stunning 3-course dinner from Herb & Spice. The evening's entertainment included amazing feats from stilt-walkers and dancing until the early hours to live music.In early September Herb & Spice recently took their culinary expertise afloat a ferry boat on the Manchester Ship Canal. The event was a world-first 36-mile record swim along the Manchester Ship Canal by James Whittaker of Peel Holdings. Launched by Philip and Julie Neville, the event was held over two days where Herb & Spice catered for 300 people a day providing breakfast, canapés, lunch and afternoon tea. The event attracted nationwide media attention and succeeded in raising thousands of pounds for The Children’s Hospital Appeal.
Summer 2008 saw Herb & Spice as official caterers at two world-class sporting events held at Alderley Edge Cricket Club. In June, tennis legends Henri Leconte, Mansour Bahrami, Anders Jarryd and Peter McNamara played an exhibition match with over 200 guests enjoying a champagne, and fabulous 3-course marquee dinner. In July over 1000 people watched Lancashire 1st XI play Bangladesh, Herb & Spice provided the corporate guests with a sumptuous 3-course luncheon and on-site catering facilities for the spectators.
Herb & Spice were commissioned as the official on-set caterers for the recent filming of a TV advertisement in Frodsham, Cheshire. The location was transformed into a gipsy camp film-set, where the production crew and actors enjoyed round-the-clock hot meals from the real-life Herb & Spice catering trailer!
Not only does Duncan Dickinson of Herb & Spice organise and cater for marathon events across the North West, he also found time to run the London Marathon in April this year! Completing the gruelling 26-mile run around London’s landmarks, Duncan managed to complete the marathon in 4 hours xx minutes – which now officially places him as the fastest caterer in the North West!
Every Thursday and Friday night evening, The Live Lounge at the Cinnamon Club in Bowdon is the venue for modern British cuisine and live music. Herb & Spice offer a feast of superb dishes prepared by a team of experienced chefs using only the freshest local ingredients, whilst a live pianist entertains guests with jazz and blues in stylish surroundings.
